Rainflo: Transforming the landscape of Auckland’s Quay Street on a rainy day to increase tourist attractions during New Zealand’s wettest and lowest tourism season.

When rain is predicted, Metservice sends information via wi-fi to the sculptures, activating them to glow and unravel to provide light and shelter. Its transition is enabled by nitinol wire, a shape memory alloy, which can move between two fixed shapes by heating and cooling.
